  • 1 Cup Light Brown Sugar 210 grams
  • 1 Cup Water 240 ml
  • 1/4 Cup Butter 55 grams
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Cups Raisins
  • 2 Eggs Beaten
  • 1-1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Candied and Chopped Mixed Peel


  • Spray the loaf dish with a butter or nonstick vegetable spray. Preheat your broiler/oven to 350 degrees F (Note: if utilizing a dim hued container decrease the stove temperature to 325 degrees F). 
  • In a large pan, over medium warmth, heat to the point of boiling the sugar, water, margarine, flavors, and raisins.
  • Boil the mixture for approximately five minutes, at that point expel from warmth, and let cool till tepid.
  • Blend into this blend the softly beaten eggs, flour, preparing the soft drink, vanilla concentrate, and sugar-coated natural product.
